Leaked recordings reported on in The Washington Post show candidate for VA House of Delegates John Stirrup is looking to impose a “100 percent ban” on abortion in Virginia.
With control of both the House of Delegates and VA Senate up for grabs in this November’s election, Virginia’s status as the only state in the South without an abortion ban is in serious jeopardy.
And that’s not all -- in a recent CNN interview, Gov. Glenn Youngkin confirmed he wants to ban abortion at the national level, putting him in the same category as Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Lindsey Graham, and other extremists who want to rip away not only women’s bodily autonomy, but the fundamental freedom to choose how to live their lives.
To stop Republicans like Stirrup and Youngkin, we need a powerful Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate that will codify abortion rights at the federal level.
