Hi John,
Evelyn here. You may remember that before joining Team Harder I was an AAPI grassroots organizer. It’s a cause that’s close to my heart not just because it’s important equity work, but also because organizing communities of color is key to democrats winning.
I joined Josh’s team because I saw him actually doing the work. His campaign last year wasn’t just reflective of the community, his team was actively involved in it. From early investments in latino organizers, to literally throwing an Aqua Fresca Competition, Josh puts his money where his mouth is.
So, what does this cycle look like for organizing in our communities of color? I’ll explain more about that below, but if you can chip in today to help us kick this off, I’ll leave a link here.
Because of redistricting, we have gained a variety of new communities we need to introduce to Josh. This includes a sizeable AAPI community including Chinese and Sikh families as well as a very large latino population.
In fact, our district is one of the most diverse in the whole country!
So here’s our initial plan:
- First, we need to hire a Constituency Director to manage the entire program - including organizing events and meeting with leaders in each community.
- And second, we need to launch our digital ads in both English and Spanish. We know the Republicans are spreading misinformation to the Latino community and we have to respond in-language.
Both of these programs can only be funded through your support. We can’t host events, launch ads in Spanish, or hire our Constituency Director without your help.
So, I’m hoping we can count on you to donate now and help make these critical investments in our outreach program.
