We're ready Please support our work during The BIG SHARE - March 3rd The BIG SHARE is an online collaborative fundraiser hosted by Community Shares of Wisconsin for its 70 member organizations. We're proud to be a member and work together to advance social justice and environmental protection. [link removed] Give anytime between now and March 3rd! In the Capitol As the 2019-2020 legislative session nears its end, bills related to water quality, PFAS, agriculture, and others were front and center during the Assembly floor sessions this week. There is a reason they call this the “silly season” in the Capitol - legislators have been scrambling day and night to get bills across before the session ends. The Assembly met Tuesday and Thursday for their final session. Next week the Senate will meet on Wednesday and then not again until late March for a final session. We are following all legislative activity closely and if you're interested, you can watch sessions live on Wisconsin Eye. [link removed] So far there has been limited but promising bipartisan efforts to address environmental and agricultural concerns. Watch for our session wrap-up to learn what bills were passed in the Assembly and what to watch for in the Senate. Because the Assembly will not meet again, any bills sent to the Senate must be passed without amendments. More to come.... 1000 Friends of Wisconsin | 608-259-1000 | 1kfriends.org Follow 1000 Friends Online: ‌ ‌ ‌ 1000 Friends of Wisconsin | 16 North Carroll Street, Suite 800, Madison, WI 53703 Unsubscribe [email protected] About Constant Contact Sent by [email protected] in collaboration with Try email marketing for free today!
