Our grassroots campaign just outraised Roger Williams -- an entrenched Republican fundraiser with corporate special interests, PACs, and Republican super PACs in his corner -- during the latest public finance period in Texas.
Our grassroots campaign was able to raise $61,892.77 -- over $10,000 more than Williams, even after Republican mega-donors like Karl Rove were trying to shore up his campaign. We did that with no PACs or anonymous corporate special interests -- just individual contributions from real human beings who want to see change in this country, coming together to do something really great for Texas.
89% of our contributions came from right here in Texas, and our average grassroots contribution was $36.73 -- this is what a movement looks like.
We're really proud to be campaigning the right way -- by showing up and listening to Texans no matter where they are. Winning isn’t about who can cash the biggest check from the most entrenched special interest groups in D.C. -- it's about showing up in places that Democrats have long neglected, meeting people where they are, and doing the hard work of building a grassroots movement on the ground.
But now that we've publicly outraised Williams, his deep-pocketed allies are going to be on high alert, and they’re going to throw everything they have our way.
They know that Julie pushed the district further than it had ever gone in 2018, to within single digits. And they know that our team has what it takes to make TX-25 a barnburner in 2020. So with just 10 days until the primary, we need you to stand with Julie by making a grassroots contribution of $15 or more.
