John,
Last month was the hottest month in recorded history. So hot that people burned themselves by touching the pavement. So hot that people wore gloves to protect their hands from an overheated steering wheel. It’s hard to imagine more clear evidence that relaxed environmental regulations and overdevelopment are causing climate change to happen right in front of our eyes. And it’s only going to get worse if we don’t take action!
That’s why we urgently need someone in Richmond that is a champion for the environment and Danica has already proven she’s up to the task. She is proud to have a 100% rating from the Virginia League of Conservation Voters and the Sierra Club all six years in the House. She supports legislation to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency, and banned above-ground transmission lines along the Interstate 66 corridor between Gainesville and Haymarket. She's not afraid to stand up to polluters and big corporations and refuses to take money from for-profit corporations, PACs, or lobbyists.
Meanwhile, the Republicans are “business as usual” when it comes to the environment — doubling down on policies that got us into this mess to begin with. Republicans support data center expansion along with relaxed environmental regulations for their operation. In fact, they are pushing lucrative development incentives for new mega-centers to be constructed near historic sites, including Manassas National Battlefield Park right here in Prince William County. This would destroy an important part of our heritage, as well as green space that’s so vital to regulating air quality. Republicans have proven they are irresponsible stewards of the environment and we can’t allow them to mismanage it any longer!
“The best thing we can do for the environment is to stop bulldozing it and start replenishing it.”
— Danica Roem
If elected to serve SD-30 this November, Danica has pledged to fight the destructive Republican agenda and reintroduce a version of SB 1078 to ban data centers near state/federal parks. We must protect our history from corporate polluters!
Danica is fighting for our community and our future. But she can't do it alone. She needs your help to get elected so she can fight climate change and protect our environment for future generations.
