[Alt text: AP News Headline from July 13, 2023: Six Months, 28 mass killings in the US. That's the worst yet, and all but one case involved guns]
We’re only halfway through the year, and we’re already on pace to have the deadliest summer on record since 2006.
That staggering number fits a larger pattern — wherever gun laws are loosened, gun deaths tend to go up. And while we’ve fought for (and won!) tighter laws across the country, in some states, extremists are actually trying to loosen gun laws.
We need to step up and pass more gun safety measures NOW to address the real threat of violence we all face every day in this country.

This is a full-blown crisis. And we cannot let elected officials simply ignore it and move on. We need an assault weapons ban, extreme risk protection orders, firearm marketing bans, safe storage laws — and we needed it yesterday.
We’re leading the fight for common sense gun control, and we need your help to keep the momentum going forward.
