Dear  john,

I hope that you and your family are well. I’ve been in North Carolina since Congress broke for August recess. It’s been a pleasure to see many of you back home, and I’m looking forward to speaking with you more on your concerns and thoughts about what’s happening in Washington.

The Week in Weaponized Government

Last week was a sad one for our country as President Trump was indicted on purely political charges by the Biden administration’s weaponized Department of Justice.

I spoke to Charlie Kirk about Jack Smith’s latest indictment and what Congress should do about it. We have the power of the purse, and we should use it.

Also, last week, the Judiciary Committee published subpoenaed Facebook files from our ongoing investigations of big government and big tech collusion to silence the American people.

The newest set of files shows the lengths the Biden administration went to  reduce traffic to disfavored news sites, kick users off Facebook, and get Facebook to change its algorithm to further suppress conservative content.

Our investigation continues, and I’ll make sure to share the newest revelations with you. I won’t rest until government bureaucrats and their partners in the censorship laundering enterprise are held fully accountable.

My bill, the Censorship Accountability Act, is a key step to doing just that. Last week, Senator Eric Schmitt introduced the Senate version of the legislation, and I’m glad to be partnering with him on this effort.

Oversight and Accountability

Last week started with a threat from the DOJ – it seemed as if the Department was going to  force Hunter Biden’s former business partner, Devon Archer, to report to jail for a prior conviction before his scheduled testimony before the House Oversight Committee.

After a group of my colleagues and I, including Reps. Matt Gaetz, Chip Roy, Mike Johnson, and Harriet Hageman, called for Congress to return to Washington immediately and hold DOJ officials in Contempt of Congress if Archer were not allowed to testify, the DOJ blinked, and Archer  testified.

TWEET: Nothing to see here...

Archer told the committee that then-Vice President Joe Biden spoke on the phone to his son’s foreign business partners at least 20 times, and that access to Joe Biden was a key reason why Hunter was given cushy positions and loads of cash from his Ukrainian and Chinese business associates.

Archer later spoke with Tucker Carlson, where he reasserted that there was plenty of corruption and that Joe Biden was part of it.

The corruption is in plain view because the Bidens thought they could get away with it. I’ll continue to bring you updates on the investigation into the Biden corruption and what will come of it.

Conservative Excellence Award

It was my honor to receive CPAC’s Conservative Excellence Award for 2022 for having one of the most conservative voting records in Congress. I’ll never stop fighting for conservative values and the US Constitution.
