Hi John,

Today's a very important day in our household: It's the first lady's birthday.

If I wrote out every amazing quality Dawn has, I'd never stop. She is my fuel, my motivation, and my greatest protector.

To be at her side in life is a privilege. To parent our two amazing kids together is humbling. And I can truly think of no one better to be first lady of our diverse, beautiful state.

I won't lie that it's a bit hard to top Dawn's celebration at Beyoncé's concert this weekend. But I also know it would mean so much for her to hear from the folks of Maryland today.

So will you help me celebrate the love of my life's birthday by signing her birthday card? I can't think of a better way to celebrate the amazing partner, mom, friend, and first lady she is than with all of you.
