Big announcement, John:

Each year as a part of our annual Gala, our board selects a member of our community to be awarded Woman of the Year. This year's nominee is a shining example of outstanding public service who has spent her career serving New Mexicans.

New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver has served on the local and state level for over 16 years. Beginning as County Clerk in 2007, she expanded voting access, modernized voter registration practices, and played an instrumental role in overturning New Mexico's same-sex marriage ban. After nearly a decade as County Clerk, in 2016 she won a special election to serve as New Mexico's 26th Secretary of State. In 2020, her colleagues from around the country, both Democratic and Republican, elected her to serve as President of the National Association of Secretaries of State. This past legislative session, she worked alongside the Legislature and advocate community to pass a historic voting rights bill (HB4), solidifying New Mexico's position as a leader on ballot access. She continues to be a national voice on election security, ballot-access, and good governance policies.

Please join us in celebrating our 2023 Woman of the Year, Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver!

Join us on Sunday, August 27 at Sandia Golf Club, where we will gather with our network from across New Mexico to celebrate our amazing awardees. The Wine & Chocolate Gala, Emerge New Mexico's biggest fundraiser of the year, allows us to continue to do the meaningful work of recruiting and training Democratic women and non-binary leaders from across New Mexico to run for elected office – and WIN!

There's still time to get your ticket or sponsor!
