I want to take some time to share with you some of the incredible stories of the brave folks I’ve met on my cross-country road trip to the sites of mass shootings. I’ve traveled to over 23 cities in states from coast to coast so far this summer.

Every single stop is the site of a mass shooting.

My friends, the inspiring Manny and Patricia Oliver are the driving force behind this tour.

The Olivers’ son, Joaquin (or “Guac”), was murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School alongside my cousin Alex and 15 others.

And at every stop along the way, we’ve met someone with a similar story to tell – a story of how assault weapons and the mass shootings they enable changed their life forever.

A daughter whose beloved mother was massacred inside a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

A father whose precious son was slaughtered in Uvalde while attending elementary school.

We’ve seen whole crowds of people holding pictures of the countless loved ones lost at the barrel of these weapons of war.

Stories like ours are far too common. Yet our lawmakers STILL refuse to take action – even as more and more communities are torn apart by this entirely preventable violence. We have to show them we’ll kick out every single cowardly lawmaker who puts the profits of the gun lobby over human lives. Will you step up before midnight and join our fight to elect more gun safety champions to Congress and pass a federal assault weapons ban with $15? >>
