FL-27 Newsletter Vol. 118, Issue #27 Dear Friends/Amigos, This week I was back in District 27 to kick off August recess hearing from you, my constituents. Small business owners and residents of my district continue to let me know that inflation and the associated rise in the cost of living continues to be of concern to my constituents. These are concerns that I take very seriously and will keep in mind as I resume legislative business in September. As I said last week, I want to remind all of my constituents that if you're looking to book a tour of the Capitol, renew your passport, or share your opinion with me, my staff and I are always here to serve! It is an honor to serve you in Congress, and please continue to call my office or visit my website to share your thoughts with me. As always, I invite you to connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to get the latest from Washington and from across our district. Sincerely/Atentamente, MarĂa Elvira Salazar U.S. Representative (FL-27) SLASHING VISITOR VISA WAIT TIMES! This week, I introduced the Visitor Visa Wait Time Reduction Act in the House of Representatives with my good friend and colleague, Congresswoman Susie Lee! Many of my constituents come to my District Office upset that embassies across Latin America are taking more than two years to process visitor visas! This is unacceptable! My bill ensures the State Department resolves this issue as soon as possible by prioritizing consular services above all else to reduce these wait times. No one in District 27 should be waiting more than two years for just a *chance* to see their loved ones. Read the full press release about the bill here. ¡Lea el comunicado de prensa completo sobre la Ley de ReducciĂłn del Tiempo de Espera de los Visados de Visitantes aquĂ!
