Thursday night we celebrated our supporters and Friday we began the work of welcoming a broad coalition because Nashville is not ready to elect another member of the city council as our next Mayor.
Our Nashville is ready to elect an executive leader - capable of managing complex and growing businesses.
Our Nashville is ready to elect an experienced former Assistant Commissioner for Economic Development who knows that a prepared workforce is critical to our city's success - and we cannot continue to look the other way when only 20% of our kids are graduating career and college ready. If we are not preparing our kids for the maximum wage jobs coming here we are failing our future.
Our Nashville is ready to bring the empathy of a mother and wife of a combat veteran - who knows that we can, and will, support our first responders who we rely on to sacrifice their lives for us in the most critical and difficult times.
Moving the desk of another city councilperson down the hall to the Mayor's office will NOT change the direction of our city. If we keep doing the same thing, if we keep electing the same people, we cannot expect a different result.
