I’m using that time to hear from supporters about the issues they care about and what I should be focusing on when I return to Washington, D.C. As Chairman of the Congressional Cartel Task Force, I’m developing solutions to combat the Mexican drug cartels that are trafficking deadly fentanyl into our communities and killing Americans. I’ve developed legislation to: Authorize the use of military force against the Mexican drug cartels Increase criminal penalties against anyone who aids and abets cartel activity Impose sanctions on foreign officials who facilitate cartel operations This work has received a lot of attention, including from the President of Mexico, who promised to campaign against me in my upcoming election.
