#LowcountryFirst Pass In Review | August 4, 2023 The Archer Interview Hello and Happy Friday! It was the first week of the August district work period for Congress, and it was great to be back in the Lowcountry. Started the week off on Sunday by joining Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday to talk about the Oversight Committee's Hunter Biden investigation. We're working hard to track down bank records and other documents that we want released to the American people so they can make their minds up for themselves. Don't trust Congress, trust the evidence. More here. Monday morning, Devon Archer completed a transcribed interview with the Oversight Committee. He told us that when Joe Biden was Vice President he joined Hunter Biden's dinners with foreign associates in person or by phone over 20 times. Archer testified that the value of adding Hunter Biden to Burisma's board was "the brand". "The brand" was confirmed to be VP Biden. Mr. Archer even admitted that Burisma would have gone out of business if not for the Biden family brand. The interview provided the Oversight Committee with more details and information for our investigation, and we will continue to pursue the truth wherever it may go. Read more here. Later that day, we held a call for members of the South Carolina media. We talked about the prospect of an impeachment inquiry, which is a tool in the toolbox but must be an apolitical process. Nancy Pelosi politicized the impeachment process and we must be sure Republicans don't do the same. If we explore impeachment, it should follow the law and constitution, not an extremist political agenda. We also discussed the need to be pro-life and pro-women. We're working hard to get OBGYN access for women in rural areas, foster care legislation passed, and a rape kit bill to address the backlog of cases across the nation. We can – and need to – support women in this country while also being pro-life. We look forward to hosting more of these calls soon. Our office has recently started a new series called “Sunday Sunsets.” If you live in the district and want to show off your beautiful sunset picture, drop it here. Lowcountry residents! We’re looking for more District Dog submissions! Drop the information on your pup here.
