I want to start by thanking you for all your support in July! Because of grassroots supporters like you, we managed to sustain the resources to not only lay further groundwork for 2024, but also to allow us to help Democratic candidates for Virginia state legislative offices this year.

Now, as August begins and Congress is on recess, I’m making sure to travel throughout my district and hear from more people about what issues matter most to them. I’d love to get your input too, JOhn.

Recently, I was proud to help secure funding to upgrade buses in Loudoun County to have reduced or zero emissions. As Congress continues its annual appropriations process, I’m hopeful that I can deliver further results for my constituents.

But I’m also concerned about the looming threat of a government shutdown — and just how far MAGA Republicans in the House will go in their efforts to cut retirement benefits, climate protections, and safety net programs as Congress approaches its deadline to fund the government.

There’s sure to be a lot of noise (much of it based on lies) in the weeks ahead. I want to be sure that your voices are elevated above it as much as possible. And the first step is getting a clear picture of what you want Congress to focus on.
