Dear Friend,

You need only step outside or turn on the news lately to see the runaway effects of man-made climate change. This is the most critical issue of our lives, and our politicians are failing us.

This month marked what is expected to be declared the warmest month on record, we saw hospitals filled with burn victims in Phoenix, hundreds of heat deaths across the US southwest, the highest Ocean surface temperatures on record, wildfires blazing all over the world, and Antarctic Sea ice losses so large that even the scientist community is at a loss to fully explain it.

What are the leaders of our country doing at this moment of crisis? Celebrating new oil pipeline construction in West Virgina.

One of the loudest voices against fossil fuels of our time is climate scientist and author of Being the Change: Live Well and Spark a Climate Revolution <[link removed]>, Peter Kalmus. In his most recent essay <[link removed]> in The Guardian, he demands that President Biden declare a climate emergency and paints an ominous picture of our planet's future.

"Each minute the fossil fuel industry exists, each drilling permit, airplane flight, gallon of gas, fossil fuel ad, lobbyist’s email, takes us further into irreversible heat catastrophe, socially and physically. These floods and fires and heatwaves and crop failures will keep pushing harder against the systems of our society – insurance, real estate, infrastructure, food, water, energy, geopolitics, everything – until at some point, inevitably, the systems will break. Nowhere is safe."

- Peter Kalmus

If we are to ensure a habitable planet for future generations, we need big bold solutions and political leaders with the will and vision to make it happen. The Green Party is the only party that can deliver on both fronts. We have the people, the energy, and the solutions to build a sustainable world.

Our Ecosocialist Green New Deal, will dramatically reconstruct all economic sectors for ecological sustainability, from agriculture and manufacturing to housing and transportation. Not just combating climate change, but also creating millions of new jobs in a democratized economy that puts the needs of the people over the greed of Wall Street.

But to see our policies made reality, we need your support. Please consider making a contribution <[link removed]> to the Green Party, your support has never been more important.
