Holding the CCP accountable

The Chinese Communist Party continues to threaten American intellectual property and the privacy of our citizens.

At our Select Committee on the CCP hearing last week, we discussed critical and emerging technologies, such as AI, semiconductors, renewable energy, and critical minerals.

I also introduced the Strategy to Oppose Purposeful CCP Aggression at the United Nations (STOP CCP at UN) Act of 2023. My bill would better equip the US to counter the CCP and strengthen our diplomatic leadership at the UN and throughout the world.

Opening a new office in Grundy County

Thanks to everyone who joined us last week to officially open our Morris office with State Senator Tom Bennett! The IL16 Morris Office will provide Grundy County and east-central Illinois with a key resource to get help with the federal government and support our outreach efforts.

Legislation to strengthen our healthcare system

Last week, I introduced the Value in Health Care Act, a bipartisan bill that will make commonsense changes to the program parameters of Medicare’s Alternative Payment Models (APMs) to incentivize participation in Accountable Care Organizations (ACO). By incentivizing the use of these value-based health models that support coordinated care between doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers, this legislation will improve healthcare access and the quality of care for seniors and patients across Illinois.

Visiting with 16th District Constituents

As the leading soybean producing state in the country, Illinois is home to the best soybean farmers around. I visited the Illinois Soybean Association in Bloomington last week to discuss the upcoming harvest, Farm Bill priorities, and expanding markets for our producers.
