Nominations are rolling in for this year's Gabrielle Giffords Rising Star Award!

Named in honor of the dedicated and courageous Gabrielle Giffords, the Rising Star Award celebrates an extraordinary woman serving in state or local office -- and giving this award is one of our favorite highlights of the year.

We're still accepting nominations, so if there is a woman currently serving in elected office that you think has a brilliant career in public service ahead of her, please tell us about her!

Previous winners include Philadelphia Councilwoman Helen Gym, California state Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo, and Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx. Former Boston City Council Member (and now congresswoman!) Ayanna Pressley and former Georgia House Minority Leader (and 2018 candidate for Georgia governor!) Stacey Abrams went on to seek higher office after being recognized with this honor.

We know our women at the state and local level are the foundation of so much of the work we do -- we can't wait to hear about the women changing the world starting in your neighborhood!
