In addition to gearing up this summer for my own 2024 re-election campaign, I’ve been intently focused on doing my part for Virginia’s 2023 elections – in which control of the state legislature is at stake.

I’d like to talk to you a bit today about what my friends over at the Virginia House Democratic Caucus are fighting for and how grassroots supporters (like you) can make a difference. I’ve seen our Commonwealth make so much progress since my time in the State Senate, but ever since Republicans won the Governor’s mansion and a narrow House of Delegates majority two years ago, they've been doing everything they can to drag us backward. They’ve been trying to pass legislation to make it harder to vote, harder to access reproductive care, and harder for all kids to access a quality education.

The Virginia House Democratic Caucus has been working tirelessly to recruit, train, and support candidates. They’re fighting to make our Commonwealth more affordable for families, protect our freedoms, and improve public education.

They need your help to make that vision a reality for all Virginians. Glenn Youngkin’s super PAC is going to be spending heavily in the weeks ahead to prop up Republican candidates. That’s why the Virginia House Democratic Caucus is trying to raise $5,000 from grassroots supporters before the end of this month.

Virginia Democrats need to win just 3 seats to flip back the House of Delegates. But out-of-state mega donors, right-wing groups, and MAGA special interests will spend massive amounts in the battleground districts. Republicans will do anything they can to hold onto their narrow majority.

I want to make sure that Virginia Democrats in Delegate races can fight back, cut through the noise, and focus on running the strategic, issues-focused campaigns we need to win.
