JOhn — in case you missed Wednesday’s message, let me make it absolutely clear:

I’m not going to be silent as Republicans threaten a shutdown that would hurt my constituents. And I’m going to fight tooth and nail against their shameful efforts to put anti-health, anti-worker, anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-immigrant language into spending bills.

But this is going to make me an even bigger target in my swing district. So with our end-of-month deadline fast approaching, I need your help to ensure my campaign has the resources to counter the coming GOP attacks.

Please chip in $10 (or whatever you can) by Monday’s deadline. We’re still $4,782 short of our goal, and every contribution is critical toward closing that gap.

JOhn,

Politico reported this week that House Republicans are preparing to pass hard-right spending bills in advance of the government funding deadline — bills that they know cannot pass the Senate.

They’re trying to stuff basic government funding legislation with extreme measures such as denying abortion access to veterans, cutting federal nutrition programs, defunding organizations that support LGBTQ Americans, and barring DREAMers from federal employment.

House Republicans are once again playing dangerous political games that could escalate into a government shutdown. And as someone who represents a district with over 30,000 federal workers, Jennifer is outraged.

Too often in our political discourse, we forget the value of our federal workers — the exact people who stand to lose when Republicans force unnecessary government shutdowns. Federal workers uphold our national security, transportation, essential services, and landmarks. They are what makes our country run effectively.

But time and time again, the far right demonizes federal workers and uses them as political pawns. In fact, when Jennifer first entered Congress, we were in the middle of a government shutdown caused by a Donald Trump temper tantrum. Millions of workers (including many in VA-10) were furloughed without pay for weeks, and real economic hardship was felt among them.

Jennifer will always use her platform and her voice to protect federal workers, and as we gear up for a big fight in the weeks ahead, she needs the resources to take on Republican lies and make sure that far-right proposals do not become law.

So JOhn, will you stand with her and chip in today? We’re looking to raise another $6,820 by our end-of-month fundraising deadline.
