Yesterday, a gunman with an assault-style rifle opened fire on a medical center outside of Dallas, Texas – sending “bullets flying everywhere” and injuring a doctor.

We are absolutely heartbroken for all those affected by this act of senseless violence.

There have been over 410 mass shootings in 2023 so far. But Republicans like Texas Governor Greg Abbott continue to insist guns aren’t the problem and block our efforts to ban assault weapons. That’s why we have to keep up our fight to get these weapons of war off our streets. So we are urgently asking for 542 gifts to help us fully fund our campaign to reinstate the federal assault weapons ban and replace every spineless gun-lobby backed lawmaker with a champion who will fight to protect our communities. Gun-loving Republicans like Texas Governor Greg Abbott don't care whether we live or die.

– 8 people were slaughtered in Allen, Texas in May
– 5 people were murdered in Cleveland, Texas in April
– 19 students and 2 teachers were stolen in Uvalde, Texas last year
– 23 people were massacred in El Paso, Texas in 2019

All of these lives and countless more from coast to coast were stolen by a shooter with an assault weapon.

When will the bloodshed finally be enough? When will our lawmakers finally take action?


We deserve better. We deserve to feel safe in our hospitals, malls, banks, grocery stores, schools, places of worship, and everywhere in between. That’s why we won’t stop fighting tooth and nail to ban assault weapons once and for all and end mass shootings for good.
