Securing the Blessings of Liberty UPDATE | WILL's Recent SCOWIS Win Creates Precedent Earlier this month, the Supreme Court of Wisconsin repealed the Town of Buchanan’s transportation utility fee. WILL won this lawsuit on behalf of Wisconsin Property Taxpayers, Inc. This ruling created a strong precedent to protect property taxpayers across the state of Wisconsin. 📰 The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported this recent change, happening in Wauwatosa, "After the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down the town of Buchanan's transportation utility fee, Wauwatosa has paused plans to implement its own.... The common council was set to decide whether to put plans in action this month, but the ruling in the lawsuit between Wisconsin Taxpayers Inc. and the town of Buchanan, a town near Appleton, has halted the process." The lawsuit names Bexar County, the home of San Antonio, and Liftfund Inc., a non-profit charged by the county to administer the program. 🗯 Dan Lennington, WILL Deputy Counsel, stated, “Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court emphatically declared that race discrimination violates federal law, and that claims of ‘diversity’ can never justify discrimination. WILL promises to fight discrimination wherever it rears its head. Our message is simple: if you discriminate against anyone based on race, you will go to court, and we will see to it that you lose.” 🗯 Greg Gomm, President and Founder of DigitalDesk, Inc. stated, “Based on the principles of equality and justice in law, governments must not be allowed to tip the scales using equity measurements of race, sex and gender. I hope that this lawsuit brings to light this illegal practice that is occurring in our nation, and hope that more Americans will join the fight.” 📰 Learn more about this case in The Daily Caller, or listen to this interview with Vicki McKenna. Fighting for equality won’t be quick, easy, or inexpensive—but it will be won! ✍️ "America is a color-blind country dedicated to the proposition that all of us are created equal. Abiding by this simple principle, in the end, is the easier route." Read Op-Ed NEW | WILL Urges U.S. Senators and Representatives of WI to Back the FAIR Act WILL sent a letter last week to the U.S. Senators and Representatives of Wisconsin, asking them to support and vote for the FAIR Act. This piece of legislation will support due process, protect individual property rights, and restore Congress’s authority to spend through appropriation—rather than leave major spending power in the hands of bureaucrats.
