REGISTER County Board adopts AED Innovation Fund Seed Grant Program On July 18, the County Board adopted the framework for the Arlington Innovation Fund Catalyst Grant Program. The grant program, to be run by Arlington Economic Development (AED), is designed to encourage the growth and sustained success of tech startups by providing access to seed capital in the early stages of a startup’s lifecycle. Learn more here. The program hopes to enhance the Arlington and Washington metro tech ecosystem, and help develop a homegrown pipeline of tech companies. The Arlington Chamber is a strong supporter of the Plan, and views the program as an excellent method for creating jobs and providing startups with tools to grow and become contributors to Arlington’s economy, as well as potential office tenants. REGISTER Metro Wants Your Input On Future of Blue, Organize, and Silver Lines Metro is now seeking public input on six proposed alternatives to address capacity, reliability, and customer needs on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines. These alternatives are long-term investments in Metro, and designed to plan ahead for the Metro corridors in the decades to come. Possible alternatives include Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines, a Silver Line Express, a second Rosslyn station and tunnel, direct connections to Union Station, and Metro service to National Harbor. Metro is hosting hybrid meetings for the public to learn more, with the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 25 at Arlington Central Library, 1015 Quincy St., Arlington VA 22201. Register here.
