Ever since Glenn Youngkin became governor of Virginia, he’s pushed to ban abortion across the entire Commonwealth.
He’s even said he would sign a Virginia abortion ban “happily and gleefully,” despite the fact that his proposed ban would threaten doctors with up to 10 years of jail time and potentially impose a $100,000 fine -- all for providing reproductive health care.
But now, Youngkin is setting his sights on a federal ban. In a recent CNN interview, he confirmed that he wants to ban abortion at the national level. This puts him in the same category as Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Lindsey Graham, and other extremists who want to rip away not only women’s bodily autonomy but the fundamental freedom to choose how to live their lives.
It’s shocking, but not surprising, that Youngkin wants to insert himself into the private lives of the women of Virginia -- and now the entire nation.
To stop him and Republicans like him, we need a powerful Democratic majority in the VA legislature -- and a strong Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate -- that will protect women’s reproductive rights.
So we’re asking: Will you split a donation of $25 or more between the Virginia Democratic Party and Tim Kaine, so we can preserve and protect Virginia’s status as the only remaining state in the South without an abortion ban?
