Friend —

Torrential rains have brought devastating flood waters to areas of Western Massachusetts over the last two weeks, and over 2,000 acres of farmland have faced intense damage.

Countless crops and infrastructure have been destroyed in these historic floods — just weeks before harvest for dozens of Massachusetts’ farmers.

I am reaching out today to humbly ask for your help in supporting our Massachusetts farmers by making a donation to the Massachusetts Farm Resiliency Fund today. [[link removed]]

My office has already joined a Massachusetts congressional delegation in calling for the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to declare the region a federal disaster area and provide federal relief, aid, and recovery for local farmers.

In the meantime, we’re asking for your help as we support community-based relief through the Massachusetts Farm Resiliency Fund.

Even a small contribution of $5 can make a big difference for the families and businesses affected by these devastating floods if everyone chips in. [[link removed]]

We can’t ignore the reality that disasters like these will only continue if we fail to confront the climate crisis with the urgency it requires.

As we fight for the livable future we all deserve, we hope you can join us in supporting this important fundraiser for our Massachusetts neighbors.

In solidarity,

Ed Markey
