Last month, I let you know about the necessity for our campaign to reach registered Unaffiliated voters in Democratic-leaning counties. To recap, Unaffiliated voters may be the deciding factor in key races across North Carolina, including ours.

A significant percentage of those voters are registered in Wake County. And here’s the deal: If we don’t carry Raleigh and surrounding towns in Wake County by significant margins, our path to victory narrows dangerously.

John, to reach Wake County’s 334,699 Unaffiliated voters, we’ve put together a three-point plan:

• Share Josh’s vision for a brighter future for North Carolina through a consistent stream of communication through physical mail, digital advertisements & social media, and TV & radio messages.
• Meet Wake County voters where they are through an aggressive field program targeting specific neighborhoods and voters.
• Identify newly registered voters (for example, young people who have just turned or are about to turn 18) and connect with them early and often.

Because of the urgency of this race and the cost of the Raleigh media market, we’ve increased our budget to $1.93 per Unaffiliated voter. That means we’re looking at a budget of $645,969 in Wake County.

Thanks to the generosity of grassroots supporters who responded to my message last month, we’re well on our way to securing the funds we need to target Wake County. But we’re NOT there yet.
