Connecting with You via a Teletownhall

Monday night, I hosted a teletownhall for constituents in the Third District. I enjoyed talking about issues we are facing as a state and nation, listening to input, and sharing about how my team can be of service. Thank you to those who joined and were a part of the conversation.

Passport Success Story

Last week, I had a constituent struggling to get a passport in time for his mission trip. Thanks to the hard work of my staff, we were able to get his passport processed, overnighted, and to his house within three days of contacting my office. I’m proud of the positive outcomes members of my team achieve daily. If we can be of service, please let us know.

Passage of the NDAA

On Friday, the House passed its version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the upcoming fiscal year. This bill includes many strong provisions to combat woke policies in the military, like stopping the harmful abortion policy within the Department of Defense (DOD), ending the DOD’s Chief Diversity Officer position, halting funding for drag shows, prohibiting Critical Race Theory (CRT) training and similar ideologies, prohibiting the coverage of radical gender treatments or surgeries in TRICARE, and preventing DOD schools from having books with controversial gender ideologies in their libraries. The legislation focuses on the most important work of our Armed Forces—fighting the rise of  China, supporting our servicemembers and their families with the greatest pay increase in more than two decades, and continuing to grow our defense industry. Providing for our common defense is a key responsibility granted to Congress by the U.S. Constitution – the NDAA is a vital part of fulfilling that duty and has been passed on a bipartisan basis for more than 60 years. The House’s bill is a strong product that I was proud to support.

Sound of Freedom Movie

Last weekend, Haley and I went to see Sound of Freedom, a powerful movie based on a true story. The movie focuses on the fight against human trafficking and reminds us that “God’s children are not for sale.” I want to thank the brave men and women in our law enforcement for their pursuit of those who commit these heinous acts. As a cosponsor of the Reporting Accountability and Abuse Prevention Act, I am working to bring more accountability for those seeking to harm our most vulnerable. I will continue to support law enforcement by fighting for policies to prevent and hold accountable anyone engaged in human trafficking.
