Dear AFSA Family,

I don’t need to tell any of you that public education is in trouble.

Our leadership team here at AFSA is working daily to make sure every member’s voice is heard at the highest levels of government.

After the recent National Assessment of Educational Progress test scores were released and the Supreme Court’s distressing decision to strike down affirmative action in college admissions was announced, I thought it was time to reach out to President Biden again to continue our conversation on a host of topics that impact the lives of school leaders every day.

Below is the letter I sent this week. After you read it, please send us your ideas and thoughts to help guide our conversation. I will keep you informed of the outcomes of our talks.
