But now, The New York Times is reporting that Rupert Murdoch (owner of Fox News and a major kingmaker in Republican politics) wants Glenn Youngkin to enter the race.
A potential Youngkin presidential run has serious implications for Virginia politics. It could fire up Republicans across the Commonwealth and put seats like VA-10 even more in play. And more immediately, it means that Youngkin and the Virginia GOP will double down on this year’s state legislative elections. If they gain a legislative trifecta, it would be a massive boost to any national ambitions Youngkin might have.
