I can’t do this without you

Friend,

When you reelected me to the state senate last year, you gave me a clear mandate to fight for a New York that is fairer, safer, and more just - a New York that is more affordable for families and where everyone has an opportunity to thrive. I’m proud to say that over the last six months, we’ve made some great progress on our shared vision for New York.

Together, we expanded the Empire State Child Tax Credit to an additional 800,000 children, giving an average boost of $320 to the more than 650,000 families that qualify.

Together, we passed my bill to make hospital costs more transparent and affordable for the more than 1.2 million New Yorkers who rely on NYSHIP for their healthcare.

Together, we expanded wage protections for freelance workers, passing my Freelance Isn’t Free bill to ensure that freelancers aren’t left out in the cold by employers who try to stiff their bill.

We passed Clean Slate and crucial climate legislation, like the Build Public Renewables Act and the All-Electric Building Act, which will help us mitigate some impacts of the climate crisis and build a greener and safer New York in the decades to come. And locally, we passed my bill to make travel on the BQE immediately safer by implementing technology that will keep overweight trucks off the crumbling highway.

But there is still so much work that needs to be done, next year and beyond — more to do to keep pedestrians safe on our streets; more to do to tackle our housing crisis; more to do to protect children from the harms of social media; more to do to ensure fair college admissions - and that work can’t be done without your help.

Midnight tonight is our campaign’s first big filing deadline for the cycle - a chance to show just how strong our coalition is and to make sure we have the resources to continue serving our community - and I need your help.

Right now we are $6500 short of our goal. Can you support our work with a contribution to our campaign by midnight tonight?

Every morning when I wake up, I consider myself so lucky that I get to represent my neighbors in the halls of government and fight to make a better world for all of us. Will you chip in to make it clear you believe in our vision, and help us get there together?

In service,

Andrew
