** Hope for families searching for a home.
------------------------------------------------------------

** The Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness along with community partners provide outreach for our most vulnerable.
------------------------------------------------------------
In downtown alone, over 5 families with little children are being assisted by ACEH outreach. Experiencing homelessness is stressful for anyone, but especially when those you love are depending on you. Despite the difficult circumstances they are in, these parents have been striving to provide their children with comfort and care. Outreach has been working to connect families around Anchorage with shelter and housing, but family shelters are full and have been running off a growing waitlist. While they wait we are working to make caring for little ones a little easier as they camp outside, in vehicles, or campers.

With help from the Food Bank of Alaska and other community partners, outreach has been checking in weekly with essentials such as formula, diapers, and baby food. Needs vary, for example; one family living with their two children out of a camper asked for 18-month-old clothes, and in another family, a father was given a phone and assistance getting an updated ID card. Any help they can get has been greatly appreciated and met with extreme gratitude.

** Seeing all of our unhoused neighbors
------------------------------------------------------------

The Shenandoah region in Virginia is using data to drive humanity into their system ([link removed])

Lydia Campbell recalls that five years ago, there was no reliable source of truth about who was experiencing homelessness and what their needs were at any given time across the Shenandoah region.

Campbell and her colleagues at Valley Homeless Connection were committed to changing that.

Five years later, they’re overcoming challenges with data and collaboration and connecting unhoused neighbors with services through prioritization, all while never losing sight of the end goal.
“It is an all-of-us problem,” Campbell said. “Our job is to work ourselves out of a job.”
