Republicans tried to silence me – it didn’t work.

I’m Tennessee state Rep. Justin Jones. You may know me as a member of the Tennessee Three, or as one of the two state representatives expelled by the GOP for calling on Republicans to act following a devastating mass shooting in Nashville.

Since my expulsion, I've realized two things:

1. Republicans would rather resort to anti-democratic schemes and attack their Democratic colleagues than heed their constituents' calls to action. It's disgraceful.
2. We need bold action that matches the scale and urgency of this moment.

Tennesseans deserve leaders that are willing to stand up for our communities, our people, and our future – who will defend against Republicans’ assault on our rights, our freedoms, and our democracy. I’m ready to continue speaking out in Nashville on behalf of my constituents.

I’m running again for my seat in the Tennessee House to champion justice and progress, and counteract Republicans’ hate-driven agenda.

But this campaign won’t be won alone. That’s why I’m counting on grassroots Democrats like you to help power this movement through Election Day.

Republicans are more afraid of our voices than they are of guns in schools. They’re fighting to take our country back to the stone ages – we can’t let this happen.
