You might recall that a few months ago, anti-choice extremists tried to use the judicial system to ban mifepristone (a widely-used abortion drug that’s been available for over two decades) across the country — including in states like Virginia where abortion is legal.

They have not let up their efforts. In fact, right now, they are leaning on their allies in Congress to insert bans on mifepristone into budget bills. Republicans are hoping to game the standard legislative process and sneak through restrictions on the reproductive freedom that millions of Americans still have.

Jennifer and pro-choice Democrats in Congress want to make it crystal clear: any budget bill containing abortion restrictions will be met with strong opposition. But they need your help to do that.

For years, Republicans cloaked their opposition to Roe v. Wade as a "state's rights" issue. They were lying.

Since Roe was overturned, they've proposed a 15-week national abortion ban in the U.S. Senate. They've encouraged states with abortion bans to restrict people from traveling to states where the right to choose remains legal.

And now, they're inserting anti-choice provisions into unrelated budget bills to try and hold hostage the government funding process.
