Community Update

New Entrepreneurship Program for BIPOC Visionaries

John,

Four days left to apply for funding through our new Community Capital Program for entrepreneurs! We have $85,000 in funding up for grabs for local BIPOC start-up business owners and innovators based out of The Bronx, Washington Heights and Harlem. Financial hardship continues to escalate with inflation, and we believe that in the financial capital of the world, no entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs should be left behind.

Ten chosen finalists will have the exciting opportunity to pitch their ventures, Shark Tank-style, to a panel of esteemed judges including Bronx restaurateur and owner of Beatstro, Junior Martinez, among others.  The Shark Tank-style entrepreneurship competition will result in three lucky winners, with the first place receiving $50,000, the runner up receiving $25,000, and the third visionary receiving $10,000.

Following the competition, the three winners will undergo a 10-week cohort-based plan that will foster growth by providing access to capital, a network of mentors, business and impact models, marketing plans, a coworking space and investor-ready pitch decks.

The entrepreneurs will become part of our family. Oyate Group will take a percentage of equity in the winning ideas, which will be used to grow future Oyate Group programs and give back to the local community.

We are absolutely elated to meet the creatives who are dedicated to giving back to our community. To be eligible to participate, founders must have an early-stage startup or have an idea in the sectors of either technology, goods and services, healthcare and design from The Bronx, Harlem and Washington Heights or be committed to working in these areas.

None of this would be possible without your ongoing support and partnership that allows us to provide tangible solutions in our community. Thanks to you, we can continue to address the underlying causes of inequality with sustainable and long lasting solutions.
