FOX 5:Republicans challenging Tim Kaine for Virginia Senate seat won’t “let him off the hook easily”
As more Republicans announce their intention to challenge Tim Kaine for Virginia’s U.S. Senate seat in 2024, media outlets across the Commonwealth are saying that this will be an extremely close race.
WTTG FOX 5’s news report highlights the GOP’s recent gains in Virginia -- like their statewide victory in 2021 -- and reports that in 2024, Republicans won’t let Tim “off the hook easily.”
Look, the GOP has put a big red target on Virginia. And with a Republican governor in power proving that this is a true battleground state, we simply can’t get complacent.
We know what a defeat for Tim Kaine would mean for our Commonwealth and our country. We’d lose a champion for job creation, voting rights, health care access, gun violence prevention, and women’s reproductive rights.
And a GOP victory in Virginia would almost definitely mean an end to the Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate, handing control back to Mitch McConnell and the Republicans who want to roll back our progress on all of those issues.
