Taking back this seat could not be more urgent. The GOP-led House has been an absolute disaster for the Hudson Valley and our country. Without Monidaire’s voice in Congress, Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans have shown up in full force with their attempts to harm everyday people. Just look at what they’ve already done:
- Used the debt limit to hold our nation’s economy hostage, voting to cut veterans’ benefits and slashing food assistance for needy families in the process
- Passed a bill to overturn the ATF’s rule on gun braces, which would make our communities less safe from mass shootings
- Voted to gut IRS staff, so that billionaire corporations and rich people can more easily cheat on their taxes
- Passed the so-called Parents Bill of Rights Act—which sought to ban books and further ostracize marginalized communities, especially LGBTQ+ people and people of color
- Passed a bill to overturn President Biden’s student loan forgiveness program, which would save millions of working people from financial ruin and protect our economy.
