Attached is Maine's monthly influenza surveillance report for MMWR weeks 21-26, ending July 1, 2023. 

At a Glance:


* # new influenza cases: 23
* # new novel influenza A cases: 0
* Most common circulating virus: influenza A and B

Monthly reports will be sent the first Tuesday of each month through the summer. 

Due to the increased risk of novel influenza A viruses from bird, agriculture, and swine exposure, please send all influenza A positive specimens to Maine Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory (HETL) for confirmation during summer months. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to [email protected]
