Friends, I want to wish you a happy Independence Day!

I’ve always loved the Fourth of July -- there’s the time spent with friends and family, the cookouts and the fireworks. (And for the record, I stand by my position in the ongoing online debate that a hot dog is not a sandwich.)

But of course, this holiday is about so much more than parades and BBQ. Every year, I think about the founding values of our country. Values that we pass along to our kids, that we recite in the pledge of allegiance.

All of us are created equal. All of us have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I also remember that on this day 247 years ago, not all in America were free.

We’re still working towards that North Star of true equality in our country -- chasing that more perfect Union, and striving for a more just society for all.

I feel honored to do that profound work with your partnership and support, and this Fourth of July, I recommit to pushing it forward every way that I can.

I hope you’ll join me -- and however you celebrate this holiday, stay safe.

-Tim
