Happy Fourth of July, JOhn!

Today, we celebrate the freedoms that the founding fathers fought for and that we have worked steadily for ever since the founding of this great nation. Ever since our founding, Americans have fought to guarantee the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and it is more important now than ever that we recommit to fighting to guarantee these rights to all Americans.

Wherever you are, and however you choose to celebrate Independence Day, I know you’ll join me in remembering how far we’ve come, how much farther we have to go, and honor the memories of those who set the fuse for the promise of America.

I am so honored to keep being able to fight for our country’s values in Congress. Our country still faces immense challenges, but seeing so many people calling and pushing for progress gives me so much hope for our future. I know that we will rise to the task of making our country more just, more equal, and more prosperous. So JOhn, whether you’re grilling, watching fireworks today, or just taking some time to relax, I wish you and yours a happy Independence Day!
