Welcome to my latest newsletter:

What a lot has happened since the last one, culminating in the election of a new Prime Minister. If you'd like to know what I think of the changes and developments then please check out my Facebook musings here. You don't have to be a member of Facebook to see this page.

Additionally, here is a breakdown of the communications and casework that I have dealt with recently. No surprises that it is Brexit dominated, but the balance of subjects is always interesting. Nothing is off-limits and rightly so.

Here in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire I have:
Simon Hart MP launching the new Towy ferry service
Helped to launch a new ferry service crossing the Towy at Llanstephan. The 'Glansteffan' (pic right) is linking the village with Ferryside for the first time in 60 years.

Viewed the plans for the Redstone junction near Narberth. It is high time this dangerous staggered junction on the A40 was made safe. The options include flyovers and a northern or southern route, and the public consultation is still taking place.
Simon Hart MP visiting the new Serendome at Bluestone
Taken Welsh Water to task for not making it clear that the LlysyFran Country Park is closed. The brown sign on the main road at Slebech still needs covering up as people are making the long trip from there only to find the facility is closed!

Enjoyed two new major local tourist attractions. The £8.5million Serendome at Bluestone (pic left) is a stunning addition to the resort park comprising a giant undercover playground and theatre; while at Folly Farm, near Begelly, I was particularly taken with the wild dogs Simon Hart MP visiting Bombora wave power firmat their new Asian Adventure enclosure.

Spoken at a packed meet and greet evening at the Jabajak Vineyard and Rooms in Llanboidy. 50 local residents attended and unsurprisingly, Brexit was the main topic of discussion.

Revisited the Australian wave power firm, Bombora (pic right), which is now employing 23 staff at their HQ in Pembroke Dock working on their prototype mWave machine.
In Westminster:

Quizzed the makeSimon Hart MP launches the Summer Reading Challengers of Fortnite about addiction of online gaming as part of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee investigation into the subject

Helped launch the Summer Reading Challenge (pic left). I support this excellent scheme each year and it aims to get children to their local library to keep up their reading skills through the long summer holiday.

Discussed the issues surrounding mental health and gambling in a very interesting meeting with the action group 'Gambling with Lives'.

Initiated and spoke in a second debate on the issue of 'Intimidation in Public Life', a problem that continues to grow, not just for Simon Hart MP with local farmers Walter Simon _ Ben Anthony MPs but for all those who take on positions in the public eye.
Simon Hart MP with Surfers Against Sewage rep_ Jaz Strzelecki
Welcomed Pembrokeshire farmers, Walter Simon from Pembroke and Ben Anthony from Llanboidy (pic right), to Westminster as part of celebrations for Tesco's 100th anniversary. Walter and Ben supply lamb and potatoes to the supermarket chain.

Listened to inspirational teenager, Jaz Strzelecki from Amroth (pic left), who came to London to speak about her role as a Surfers Against Sewage rep and the beach cleans she organises.

Asking Written Parliamentary Questions about the long delays that people are experiencing in dealing with the Probate Office, as well as asking the Department for Exiting the EU about no-deal planning.
And finally...

These photos have been my most popular on Facebook. My stealth camera has been capturing some great images of the wildlife of Llanmill.

For Netflix fans, you may want to watch 'The Big Hack', a new film about the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica scandal, in which I make a brief appearance!

And last, but by no means least, I have accepted the position of "Minister for Implementation" in the Cabinet Office. Our responsibilities are based on ensuring all aspects of Government are ready for October 31st and beyond including all the main infrastructure issues on which we all depend. It certainly won't be dull.
