Friend,

As Pride Month comes to a close, we wanted to update you on what we’ve
been doing to celebrate and advocate for LGBTQIA+ Marylanders, and [ [link removed] ]how
you can join our efforts.

MARYLAND IS NOW A SANCTUARY STATE FOR GENDER-AFFIRMING CARE

Earlier this month, our team joined other members of the Trans Rights
Advocacy Coalition to celebrate Pride Month with Governor Wes Moore and
First Lady Dawn Flythe Moore at Government House! At the event, the
governor signed a landmark Executive Order that protects anyone who seeks
or provides gender-affirming care in Maryland from any outside attack.
This is especially important for those traveling to Maryland for gender
affirming care.

Reception at Government House. The photo is taken from the side, and
everyone is smiling and looking at a different camera.

BALTIMORE TRANS PRIDE

We also joined TRAC at Baltimore Trans Pride to celebrate our queer and
trans community, and organize around trans advocacy. It was incredible to
share such a joyful space with so many queer and trans Marylanders – if
you saw us, we hope you said hello!

reads ''A trans-led coalition organizing to improve the wellbeing of our
communities. Join us!'' Everyone is smiling and holding signs that read
''Trans rights are human rights''

JOIN OUR EFFORTS

Unlike many of our other projects, Advance Maryland doesn’t receive direct
funding for our work with the Trans Rights Advocacy Coalition. In fact,
the entire group is made up of volunteers and has no source of external
funding. [ [link removed] ]That’s where you can come in.

[ [link removed] ]DONATE TO THE TRAC FUND

Every dollar donated to our TRAC Fund will go directly to helping the
coalition continue to organize, advocate for, and protect trans
Marylanders. The coalition has already secured big wins with mandating
Maryland Medicaid cover gender-affirming care and making Maryland a
sanctuary state for queer people, but the work continues. We’re committed
to protecting incarcerated trans people, protecting the rights of trans
parents, ensuring that trans kids are safe and have access to the care
they need, and much more.

[ [link removed] ]DONATE TO THE TRAC FUND

If you can, please consider becoming a recurring donor to the TRAC Fund.
Recurring donations help create a steady stream of money that will sustain
our efforts through the next legislative session and beyond. Every penny
counts!

[ [link removed] ]BECOME A RECURRING DONOR

Our work doesn’t stop when June ends. LGBTQIA+ Marylanders exist
year-round, and so do the issues that impact our lives. Thank you for your
continued support, and Happy Pride!
