Thank you to all who attended Sunday's Open House event at our Democrats of Indian River headquarters. We had a magnificent turnout with wonderful conversations and opportunities to get engaged. Also, every single hot dog was eaten! The next event opportunity will be the Sebastian 4th of July Freedom Festival.

March with us! The Democratic Club of Indian River County invites you to participate in the Sebastian Freedom Festival July 4th parade and tabling. This FREE event takes place at Sebastian Riverview Park. Find more details and volunteer HERE.

RUN FOR OFFICE
Why would anyone run for office knowing they were going to lose? Listen as Kelly Krout explains the importance of running even when the odds are against you because democracy only works when the people have a choice.

Join Indian River Democrats on
July 4, 2023 to walk in the 4th of July Parade

Please use THIS LINK to sign up as a volunteer!

We will have two decorated trucks to accompany those who are walking in the parade with the Democrats’ banners, flags and passing out candy. We want Indian River to see a LOT of Proud Democrats in the parade! After the parade, we will set up our tent and table at the park to register voters, collect ballot petitions, sell merchandise and connect with the community.

Following the parade, there will be festivities in the park. Live entertainment, food, craft booths, vendors, etc. Fireworks at 9:00 p.m. sharp. This is a fun-filled family event! This FREE event will take place at Sebastian Riverview Park, 600 US Hwy 1, Sebastian, FL 32958.

Victory! The Supreme Court has ruled in the Moore V. Harper case denying state lawmakers the ability to manipulate federal elections and undermine the people's vote under the independent state legislature theory.

The Court rejected the argument that state legislatures could write election and voting laws unchecked. Given the long history of voter suppression and current rise of state laws that create barriers for voters of color in particular, we celebrate that the court to kept critical guardrails that have advanced equal access to the ballot.

This is a is a resounding victory for American Democracy and American voters. The Court reaffirmed the checks and balances that have been hallmarks of our government for more than 200 years.

You can tell your member of Congress to expand the Supreme Court to protect our voting and civil rights, create term limits, and institute a code of ethics HERE.
