This match is building urgent solidarity support for our Indigenous partners to secure land rights, like with the recent demarcation (official land titling) of more than 1.5 million acres in Brazil. Securing Indigenous land rights helps prevent land theft, extractivism, and violence against Amazonian Indigenous peoples. It is the best way to protect the rainforest now and for the future.

Now, the Munduruku Indigenous land of Sawré Muybu is being considered for demarcation! As a longtime ally, Amazon Watch has supported the Munduruku's demarcation process through solidarity funding and capacity-building measures, including a recent solar installation to provide clean and dependable power for territorial monitoring and educational and economic activities.

The message from Amazonian Indigenous peoples is clear: Now is the moment for allies to step up and do everything we can to resist rollbacks of Indigenous rights and advance land titling.
