The Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness ([link removed]) was proud to assist with the Homeless to Stably Housed initiative. Thank you to the many partners and stakeholders that have worked to convert hotels into housing. Special thank to the Rasmuson Foundation ([link removed]) for leading the work to bring much-needed affordable housing units online. Stay tuned for more to come!

Community Solutions
** From seeing the problem to solving the problem

Communities are establishing high-quality data systems that account for everyone experiencing homelessness by name and need, in real-time.
“To achieve quality data for veterans means that we know who’s in our community,” said Heidi Grove, who works to solve homelessness in Boulder, Colorado. Her community is one of the 64 communities to have successfully achieved the quality, by-name data milestone for one or more populations.
With this data, communities are able to connect people with housing and needed support to accelerate their efforts toward reducing homelessness. But right now communities face barriers to collecting and analyzing this comprehensive, person-specific data.

Data on Barriers This session will provide key data needed to identify and understand affordable housing barriers using the American Community Survey (ACS), Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy (CHAS), National Historical Geographic Information System (NHGIS), American Housing Survey (AHS), and United States Postal Service (USPS) Vacancy Data. The session will also include discussions of geography levels, data dictionaries, how to use the data to understand rates of housing problems, and how to use local data to identify acute housing demand.
