Visit the DC GOP at 80 M ST SE (WeWork) to help Republicans running for office in DC. If you are a registered Republican in the District we need your help signing candidate petitions for the following offices:

1. President of the United States
2. DC Council At-Large
3. Ward 2 Member of the Council (Primary and Special)
4. Ward 8 Member of the Council
5. DC National Committeeman
6. DC National Committeewoman
7. Ward Chairs of the DC Republican Committee

Are you a registered Republican interested in running for office in the District of Columbia?

The DC Republican Party is looking for registered GOP candidates to run in the 2020 elections. While general election day is November 3, 2020, and the primary for partisan offices is June 2, 2020, much preparation is needed to make a successful run for public office. You need to start to plan your run as early as possible. Please contact Patrick Mara at [email protected] if you are considering a run in 2020. The following offices are on the ballot in 2020:

June 2, 2020, Republican Primary Ballot)

Ward Chair: Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (All Wards)
DC Council: At-Large, Wards 2, 4, 7, 8

November 3, 2020, General Election Ballot

Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners: 
All ANCs (Citywide/Nonpartisan)
DC State Board of Education: At-Large, Wards 2, 4, 7, 8 (Nonpartisan)
DC Council: At-Large, Wards 2, 4, 7, 8

Coming Up:
2020 DCYRs Executive Board Elections
 
Elections for the DCYR Executive Board are coming up! 

The elected officer positions are Chairman, Executive Vice Chair, National Committeeman, National Committeewoman, Vice Chair of Communications, Vice Chair of Events, Vice Chair of Finance, and Vice Chair of Membership. A candidate for any office must be an active DCYR member in good standing for at least sixty (60) days prior to running for office.

There are special criteria for Chair, National Committeeman, and National Committeewoman. To run for those offices, the candidates must reside in the District of Columbia.

To be eligible to vote, you must be registered as an Active/ Full Member by February 29, 2020. To qualify as an Active/ Full Member, you must be: (i) between the ages of 18-40; and (ii) be a resident or work in the District of Columbia within the past twelve (12) month period. 

Timeline:


🔹️February 18th, 2020: Deadline for candidates to 'file' for candidacy by email to Elections Committee Chair, Jonathon Hauenschild, at [email protected], or in-person by nomination at the March DCYR Member Meeting. If filing by email, please include your name, confirmation of your Active Membership, and the position for which you plan to run. Each candidate will be given three (3) minutes to address the membership at the Member Meeting.

🔹️February 29th, 2020: Deadline to register as a member to be eligible to vote.

🔹️Last week of March (likely March 31th, 2020): Date and location will be announced shortly. Elections will be held using a secret paper ballot. Only Active/ Full Members registered prior to February 29th, 2020 will be permitted to vote.

AFCYRs February Meeting
 
Please join the Arlington/Falls Church Young Republicans on Monday, February 17th, at Summers Restaurant. Their guest speaker will be candidate for Virginia's 8th Congressional District, Mark Ellmore.

AFCYRs will also be holding elections for the 2020 - 2021 Executive Board. All positions are up for election. The following positions are available:

- Chair
- Vice-Chair
- Communications Director
- Finance Director
- Membership Chair

Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) 2020
 

The Conservative Political Action Conference is the largest and most influential gathering of conservatives in the world. Launched in 1974, CPAC brings together hundreds of conservative organizations, thousands of activists, millions of viewers and the best and brightest leaders in the world.

Over 19,000 people attended CPAC 2019, some of whom had not missed a single conference since Ronald Reagan gave the first CPAC keynote speech in 1974. Yet each CPAC is fresh and unique, with 60% of attendees experiencing the conference for the first time, half of whom are college aged and younger.
