She really showed us her true colors this time.

We sent you the email below when we caught wind of Elsie's support for this budget proposal, and now others are catching on. Check out this article ([link removed]) on just how backwards Elsie Arntzen's priorities are for Montana students.

"Superintendent of Public Instruction Elsie Arntzen is championing a budget proposal that says we don’t have enough money to ensure that the needs of students with disabilities, kids on reservations, and our rural schools are met, but that we do have enough money to give massive tax breaks to the wealthy."

This is unacceptable. Help me take back this seat.

John,

I have no words.

For the last two days I have been trying to wrap my head around this administration's proposed budget for the 2021 fiscal year.

$6.1 billion slashed from education funding.

While it cuts essential grants and programs, it includes huge increases in funding for private schools - $46 billion over ten years, or up to $5 billion a year. It also includes $5 billion for tax credit voucher scholarships ([link removed]) that will divert already scarce funding away from public schools.

Perhaps most shocking of all is Elsie Arntzen ([link removed]) has vocally supported this budget.

Maybe Ms. Arntzen doesn't realize this proposal means Montana will see a $30 million cut to our public schools.

This budget is abhorrent and Ms. Arntzen should be ashamed to support such devastating cuts to programs that support our state's rural and reservation schools, students with disabilities, homeless students, nutrition assistance programs, and so much more.
Our teachers, parents and students deserve an education advocate leading the Office of Public Instruction, someone who will fight for them every single day - not someone who supports subsidies for private schools at the expense of public education for all Montana children.

I will be that superintendent, but I can't get there alone. Join my campaign ([link removed]) today and help me restore real leadership at the Office of Public Instruction.
