Happy Valentine’s Day!!! Love is in the air, and I’m out in my community showing my love for Texas Agriculture at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. This will be my 20th year volunteering at the Stock Show and Rodeo. I love walking teachers, students, and parents through the exhibitions and showing them the important role Texas agriculture plays in our lives—from supplying our food chain to putting the roofs over our heads. This year, while I was leading educational tours, the president was releasing his 2021 budget, a budget that could signal disaster for Texas agriculture and communities. This budget includes drastic cuts to SNAP benefits and vital healthcare programs. SNAP puts food in the mouths of children, like many of the children I taught today. SNAP dollars also support agriculture and food production in our state. The president’s budget also threatens family healthcare by taking aim at the Children’s Health Insurance Program and proposing deep cuts to Medicaid. Not only kids, but parents and grandparents are in danger, too, with proposed deep cuts to Medicare and Social Security! Ripping up the social safety nets that protect our children and families is unacceptable, especially while this administration continues to pour money into building a useless border wall and perpetuating inhumane family separation policies. Instead of slashing support where communities need it most, we should be rolling back the Trump Tax Scam that benefited the top 1%. We should also be increasing the Social Security Cap for contributions and expanding Medicaid. In 2021, we must elect a representative for #TX21 who spends time in the district. A representative who meets with and listens to the voters. In this campaign, I have driven over 15,000 miles and attended 145 events to listen to the people. As your congresswoman, I pledge to continue listening and working for YOU. Please help me fight for our voices to be heard in D.C. Join our fight for our #21 voices to be heard and valued in Washington Thank you! Jennie Lou Jennie Lou Leeder for U.S. Congress, 9901 Brodie Lane, Ste 160-300, Austin, TX 78748, USA Unsubscribe
