One year ago, the Supreme Court made the unprecedented decision to ignore five decades of settled U.S. precedent in overturning Roe v. Wade.

The Dobbs decision was an attack on women’s rights to make fundamental personal choices about issues of reproductive health -- and the consequences have been disastrous:

Full abortion bans have gone into effect in 14 states, including Texas, Wisconsin, and Missouri. Other states like Georgia and Nebraska have implemented highly restrictive policies that make it extremely difficult for women to access reproductive care.

In the last year, I’ve sought to codify the rights established by Roe -- by helping to lead the fight in the Senate to pass the Reproductive Freedom for All Act. I’ve also advocated for the Protecting Access to Medication Abortion Act to ensure safe medication like mifepristone stays accessible.

This isn’t just about reproductive health care -- it’s about fundamental attacks on our freedom, too.

If Republicans win back control of the Senate next year, they will pass a national abortion ban -- plain and simple. And at the core of all these issues is a plot to restrict and control women.

So it’s not just reproductive freedom on the ballot -- it’s women’s healthcare choices, women’s freedom, and women’s full autonomy.

We can’t let the GOP win next November, and we can’t let them advance their mission to restrict women.
