Dear John,
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the US Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and take away our federal right to abortion.
With this decision, our pro-choice women legislators became our last line of defense against attacks on abortion access in NC. They were able to hold the line until Tricia Cotham's unconscionable defection to the Republican party.
As you know, NC Republicans were able to push through their 12-week (and more) abortion ban in a highly undemocratic process last month. Now, as it faces a major lawsuit, they are making last-minute changes to the ban that is supposed to go into effect in just a week.
But they won't stop there. We know that Republicans like Mark Robinson want to outlaw abortion completely, with no exceptions. We must keep fighting back to make sure that doesn't happen.
Lillian's List has true progressive women ready to run in competitive districts all around the state. And we're hosting trainings [[link removed]] this summer and fall to prepare them to run strong campaigns.
