Friend,

MAGA Republicans voted to censure Rep. Adam Schiff. No surprise there. All they’re doing is proving how far gone they are down the rabbit hole of extremism and conspiracy.

There isn’t a level of MAGA insolence and outright hypocrisy that should surprise us anymore. Ignoring the flagrant crimes of George Santos, the violent threats from Paul Gosar, the murderous attack on our democracy from Trump, and instead focusing on derailing the government.

This is only the beginning.

Over the coming weeks, they’re going to try to impeach President Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray, AG Merrick Garland, and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. It will all fail in the Senate. But that’s not the point. They’re doing it to appeal to their extremist fringe. And in doing so, they’re proving exactly what they’re focused on.

It’s not governing. That’s for sure. Nothing they’re doing will help one family, create one job, make one street safer, reduce medical bill anxiety, build one road or bridge, or improve education.

But you know what I say? Let them do it. Let them censure. Let them try to impeach. None of it will have any actual consequences. And it will just make the work we do here at The Lincoln Project that much easier.

Joe says it best. Let them do the crazy. And we’ll do the work.

Do you really think a majority of the country wants to see President Biden impeached? Do you really think they believe in some deep-state conspiracy against the FBI? Of course not. They don’t care what the trending topic is on Truth Social. They sure as hell don’t listen to Bannon’s War Room Podcast.

The Schiff censure is just a distraction. Don’t let it bother you. Let it remind you how far gone they truly are. And let it motivate you to help support the fight to kick these MAGA extremists out of power for good.

-Stuart
